GRADUATES FROM GENERAL PROGRAMS TO MANUFACTURER SPONSORED

PROGRAMS

You are invited to be in a research study on the job satisfaction levels of dealership automotive technicians. You were selected as a possible participant because you are working at a new car dealership as an automotive technician, completed a two-year automotive training program, and are 18 years of age or older. Please read this form and ask any questions you may have before agreeing to participate in the study.

Bobby G. Rowe, a doctoral candidate in the School of Education at Liberty University, is conducting this study.

Background Information: The purpose of this study is to compare the job satisfaction levels of automotive dealership technicians that completed a manufacturer’s sponsored training program to those automotive technician that completed a general automotive training program.

Procedures: If you agree to be in this study, I would ask you to do the following things:

1. Take an anonymous online survey. It is estimated that this will take approximately 20 minutes for you to complete.

2. Upon completion of the survey, a link or email address will be provided for you to submit your shipping information to receive, if you are one of the first 120 submitters, a tire pressure monitoring system Schrader valve removal/torque stick. This should take approximately five minutes to complete. This link cannot be used to identify which survey you submitted.

Risks: The risks involved in this study are minimal, which means they are equal to the risks you would encounter in everyday life.

Benefits: Participants should not expect to receive a direct benefit from taking part in this study.

Compensation: The first 120 participants submitting their shipping information after completing their survey will receive a tire pressure monitoring system Schrader valve removal/torque stick.

Confidentiality: The records of this study will be kept private. Research records will be stored securely, and only the researcher will have access to the records.

• All data collected for this survey is collected anonymously and cannot be traced back to an individual.

• Data will be stored on a password locked computer and may be used in future presentations.

Voluntary Nature of the Study: Participation in this study is voluntary. Your decision whether or not to participate will not affect your current or future relations with Liberty University. If you decide to participate, you are free to not answer any question or withdraw at any time prior to submitting the survey without affecting those relationships.

How to Withdraw from the Study: If you choose to withdraw from the study, please exit the survey and close your internet browser. Your responses will not be recorded or included in the study.
